Villa Ostrava

A modern family house, the quiet rustling of the pine grove and great accessibility to the nearby town. This unique atrium villa embodies the values and philosophy of our KAREŠ ARCH studio: the house as an open embrace in the landscape, living in direct contact with nature, the exterior penetrating the interior through large glass surfaces.

On Monday, in between meetings held in Prague, we stopped by the exhibition of our favourite artist @lubomir_typlt . He not only arranged an extraordinary opening of the Villa Pellé for us (it's normally closed on Mondays, as is customary in galleries and museums), but he even gave us a personal tour of his exhibition entitled Levitation. Thanks again to Lubomir for an unforgettable experience!

Contemporary art is an integral part of our architectural work, so you can often meet us at exhibitions and galleries. But having the artist himself as a guide and being able to talk about his work in person is something that you don't get to do just every day, so it was something we greatly appreciated.

The construction company DESIGNOSTAV implemented two villas in the Ostrava region using our design. The houses are designed with reference to the functionalist tradition, both in terms of architectural design and the internal spatial arrangement of the layout. Emphasis is placed on an open common space that responds to and freely intertwines with the surrounding residential garden used by the house’s owners for relaxation.

In a new location in the Vysočina region, the finishing works are already underway on the villa that used our design, again in cooperation with ORAK. This will be followed by the implementation of the garden, including the swimming pool and additional buildings. We are looking forward to how it all takes on its final form!
